Last Pride, a Lesbian Showed Me Gender Critics Were Using Us

What happens when a lesbian goes against the GC herd? They crucify her. I’ve been experiencing that myself for speaking up about the homophobia, misogyny, and extreme transphobia in the gender critical movement. This story is about the lesbian who woke me up from the GC spell.

In theory, gender critics are concerned with how trans rights impact women’s rights. The problem is I’ve yet to see clear arguments not based in fear or bigotry. If there are any, reasonable voices have been drowned out by GC influencers, such as Posie Parker and her crew.

In June 2019, one brave lesbian stood up and finally showed receipts on Parker that women needed to see. I’d heard rumors that PP was harmful to various minorities, but no one ever had receipts. Then Bryn Morris stepped up.

Bryn made a public Facebook post showing Parker’s homophobia. She was met with gaslighting and personal attacks.

Bryn showed one of Posie’s homophobic takes, and women responded with gaslighting and personal insults. “Posie’s on our side,” Rebekah Wershbale argued.

She’d made a name for herself earlier that year by getting kicked out of a pub for wearing Posie’s “Woman” T-shirt. I was romantic with Rebekah when Bryn started calling out GCs, and it disappointed me that she thought PP weaponizing lesbians to hurt trans people was being “on our side.” Bryn called out the photo Rebekah shared and showed how using lesbians to oppose transition and trans rights was twisted and homophobic.

The reaction was more gaslighting and personal insults. Someone actually said the Irish have a low IQ. Then she said Bryn must have a “lady penis.”

Venice Allan tagged in writer Brendan O’Neill to pile-on Bryn. She acted like his article, one that Posie received criticism for sharing, wasn’t homophobic. Clearly, it was.
